What personal data we collect and why
Contact Form
When you submit a query through our contact form, we collect your first name, email address, phone number, and message content. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. By submitting the form, you consent to us contacting you via phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, or other channels you have opted into. We retain contact form submissions for up to 12 months for customer service follow-up purposes.
Orders and Account Registration
When you create an account or place an order on our website, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and order details. This information is necessary to process your order, arrange delivery, and provide order updates. We do not store credit/debit card details — payments are processed securely through Razorpay.
Mailchimp Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter via the signup form on our website, we send your email address to Mailchimp for the purpose of sending promotional offers, product updates, and store announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in every email.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
We also use WooCommerce cookies to remember the contents of your shopping cart and your checkout progress. These are essential for the functioning of the store.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We share your data only with trusted third-party service providers necessary to fulfil your orders and operate our business:
Razorpay — for processing online payments (we do not store payment card details)
Mailchimp — for managing newsletter subscriptions and email marketing
Delivery/courier partners — for shipping your orders to your address
WhatsApp — for customer communication if you opt in
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Order data is retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax and accounting laws (GST compliance). Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months. Newsletter subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes (such as order records required for tax compliance).
To exercise these rights, please contact us via our contact form, phone (+91 95260 63738), or visit any of our store locations in Kollam, Trivandrum, or Alappuzha.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Order data is processed through our secure WooCommerce store hosted behind Cloudflare. Payment data is handled directly by Razorpay’s secure infrastructure. Newsletter data is stored on Mailchimp’s servers (which may be located outside India).
